Tilly as Fred Flintstone!

As you know from my previous post, I went to my firm's Xmas party as Fred Flintstone. On Saturday, whilst I was cooking dinner (see previous post)...Lil had a little project to do, using my leftover materials and fabric from my costume...she made Tilly (Maz's cute dog) a costume...this is the end result...hahaha she looked sooo cute. We even surprised Maz's parents by dressing both Tilly and myself up as Fred Flintstone and appearing before them as a surprise hhaah...and they were definitely surprised and loved it...especially Tilly, all that extra attention and loving...pretty fortunate life she has... anyway here are more of the pictures...enjoy and say awwwwww... :P
so adorable!

3 Courses from Me

On Saturday, it was terrible wet and overcast weather (which ruined our plans :P)...so I decided to spend the afternoon cooking a fine dining 3 course meal for Lil (which totally surprised her as she just thought I was cooking 'dinner'...pfff)...sorry Yish...got to see more pictures (but this time of what I cooked :P
Entre: 'Symphony of the Sea' - steamed fresh XL pacific oysters, fresh prawns, sambal squid with pineapple and sweet potatoe salad...this totally surprised Lil as she thought we were just having Oysters pfff... haha (sorry Yish...I know how much you like seafood)
Main 'Chicken Supreme' - a stack of japanese bread crumb fried chicken thigh fillet on a bed of baked potatoe and sweet potatoe with snake beans and a garlic and herb sauce with pineapple.
Dessert 'Almond Jelly with Mango' - all homemade by me! (Yish?)

A day at Bondi Beach

Isn't this a picture perfect scene?

Ebsworth Xmas Party

Last Fri was my firm's annual Xmas party...the location: Australian Museum in Sydney, the theme: 'back in time'. Inspired by something, I wanted to be a caveman...Lil was also inspired by something and thought up going as Fred Flinstone! What made it even better was that Lil could sew...(and so can I :P) so it became our little project over 2 nights...to actually make my Fred Flintstone costume!. Anyway I will let the pictures tell the story...
The end result... Looking good eh...so well prepared, I went to the museum...and it was a big hit (where I could proudly tell/show-off to everyone that we made it together...needless to say every one of my colleagues were suitably impresed)
(in case you are guessing...he was dressed as a giant 'sperm' he really went back in time!)
there was plenty of alcohol that night...

Maz's Surprise Birthday Party

On 10 Nov, Lil and myself planned a surprise birthday BBQ for her best friend...Maz. This was at a place we all know very well...Liberty Grove! We invited most of Maz's good friends and kept it a surprise from her (Maz thought we were going to play a game of tennis :P) Needless to say it was quite a surprise for her...and when we ran out to surprise her she still asked: "are you all here to play tennis too...(duh)" haha! After an entire week of rain rain rain...the heavens cleared up for perfect weather for a BBQ (as you can see in the background :P). Anyway here are some photos of the rest of the afternoon... it was a very memorable even (again) at Liberty Grove Bar and Grill :P

The chef/cook for the day...JB overseeing the chicken wings ... there was so much delicious bbq food (can you see it Yish??? I didn't take that many pictures because I can leave it up to your imagination Yish) ... there was chicken steaks, chicken shish kebabs, lamb cutlets, fresh prawns, french onion dips, hokkien noodle, potatoe salad, sambal squid... there was just soo much food!
After the main eating session, we all moved indoors for the cake cutting ceremony and to chill out
The gang...
After the chill out session...we went to play tennis...and errr...sleep?! haha..it was really that tiring a day!

Overall another good day...sorry for it being a little late :P as it is now in Dec and this happened in early Nov...but stayed tuned, I will continue to update it ... especially the recent GN tournament! :)

Liberty Grove Bar & Grill Opening
You haven't tasted a proper dip until you have tried Lillian's Damper Dip, the perfect appetiser to get the pallate going. The venue was open plan and rather spacious with clever improvisation and use of furniture... Head Chef Chui & Quek had prepared a masterful meat ensemble, and the wafted aroma of sweetly scented chilli chicken immediately captured the senses...the meat was sweet and tender.....and oh,,, who could forget the lamb chops, lightly marinated by Liberty Grove Bar & Grill's resident chef Quek....a rarefied experience as the meat slides off the edge of the cutlery with ease and oh the enjoyment as you wrap your lips around the treat.... Then came the Sambal Squid, the singaporean influence of chef Quek coming through in this delightful dish...cleverly encased in a marinated wrapping of exotic juices....Five Stars, A rousing success....
