Volleyball Finals

Last Thurs, it was our volleyball finals...ok because of some scheduling changes, it was our semi finals, followed by finals (if we won the SF). This was the second time in 2 seasons the team I was playing for had made it to the finals series (see previous posts) It was held at Sydney Boys High again...and this time I had my Lil and Mr Chan with me as part of our cheer squad. Ok anyway back to the game...well we played pretty s#it during the regular season and was about 6th or 7th on the ladder...last week was our QF and we played I think the 5th or 3rd rank team...anyway we played well as a team (we always seem to step up and gel at the right time :P) and we won! So here we are again...a week later playing against the 1st team (the top team) and I can tell you that they were GOOD...not saying that because we were playing them, but they really were good...all are monster spikers of the ball and got massive hops. We would have our work cut out :P Well thankfully....we won! yeah it was a hard fought game especially since we had lost the first set but we came back and won the second set convincingly...it all came down to the decisive 3rd set (because it was SF it was still a 1 hr time limit or best of 5 sets whichever came earlier)...we were leading the 3rd set by about 2 points when the siren went...so we went thru to the Grand Final. Just. If this had been the finals and we had to play best of 5 sets...I don't know how the result would have gone :P
We ended up playing I think the 2nd ranked team...it was such a tough game (think we were just more tired than anything having played a tough 3 setter against the top team, whilst the 2nd team had a relatively easy game and could rest). We won the first set (just barely)...they won the second set (convincingly), but we dug deep and won the next two sets to win the Comp!!!! :) Ramen (our team name) has won back-to-back competitions (it was also quite late by the time we ended...having played a total of 7 sets during the day).
