Oscillate Wildly

Last Saturday, due to a prior family arrangement, Lil, myself, Maz and JB went to a very popular fine dining place in Newtown (it was so popular that there is a 2-3 month waiting list if you wanted to eat on a Saturday night). So it was through our "good fortune" that we were called in to replace Maz's parents at Oscillate Wildly (yes I know its a strange name :P). I guess the reason for the popularity of the place is that they offered a 3 course (entree, main and dessert) for only $55 (which by Sydney fine dining standards is an absolute steal)...not to mention the food was also of top fine dining standard...evidenced by the fact that it was only recently offered one chef's hat in the latest Sydney Good Food Guide (meaning that it is going to raise its prices soon due to the higher standard of cooking that it now is certified to have :P). Unfortunately, I didn't take a photo of the menu hence my description of what we each ate is pretty simplistic. Well I will let the picture tell the story :P haha... So anyway here are some of the pictures taken from that night :)
Me and Lil
Our other 2 dinner companions...

Potatoe salad (side dish)
Lamb Entree
Grilled Octopus
Scallops with goat cheese
Veal consome
Barramundi with Lobster bisque (foamed)

Pork Belly Venison Snapper Apricot cake with Pumpkin ice-cream

Chocolate fondant with honey ice-cream

A group photo of us at dessert. The 3 "gangsters" (in an allyway on our way to the car)

After dinner, we went to watch the movie 'Ratatouille' (spelling?)...an excellent show, that was co-incidentally about...fine dining! ahhh...inspired by Remy! you can imagine the feeling we had whilst watching the show having just come from a fine dining resturant....its a unique sort of feeling and pretty much enhanced the an already excellent movie. It was a nice ending to an excellent night of fine dining and chatting with friends (with plenty of laughter thrown in...) *we were imitating each other with sayings or phrases that we always used, but never noticed :P haha...
